i was in the dreaming
i was in the dreaming
held
in
a scream
as the hammer
beat
my aching neck
time and time again
i was old
i was young
i was in this dreaming
i was on the road
once more
stuck
in a highway jam
and
thinking
of home
where is my home?
i was nowhere
split
and stoned
sinking
i was a stranger
staring
i was
hung
dreaming

poem for lock-down
at every turn
feeling
bricked-up
bricked-up
broken
down
stuck in the ground
lost
not found
fleeting
fear
floating
flotsam
at every turn
bricked-up
bricked-up
ground down
they're crowding me in
they're crowding me out
these dreams
these words
this vestigial spinning world
locked-up
locked-down
I'm just
bricked-up
bricked-up
broken
ground

when all is still
when all is still
and the wood is silent
i tie them
to the boughs and branches
bury them deep
beneath the frozen ground
drown them in deep black waters
just
waiting
for spring
to loose
the bonds
and set my dreams free
