a night of music

Will life ever return to 'normal'?

One of the things many of us have missed during the pandemic lock-down has been listening to live music. So it was really special when our fledgling community group met in a little village church to celebrate the joy of music.

Our three musicians were brilliant, the cakes served during the interval went down a treat and best of all, we raised £260 for the Ukrainian DEC appeal.

That's what happens when people join together.

poem for lock-down

at every turn
feeling
bricked-up
bricked-up
broken
down
stuck in the ground
lost
not found

fleeting
fear
floating
flotsam
at every turn
bricked-up
bricked-up
ground down

they're crowding me in
they're crowding me out
these dreams
these words
this vestigial spinning world
locked-up
locked-down

I'm just
bricked-up
bricked-up
broken
ground
