Hidden

My very first memory

My very first memory was crawling across a carpet in the dining room in search of a spinning-top that had become lodged beneath the bevels of a heavy-oaked sideboard.  The carpet was rough on my knees and had a snake-like pattern.  It took some time to cross.

My reward was a humming blur of spinning-top colour.  There was a little train inside, and each time it reached a certain point a barrier raised to let it through.

It left an impression ...

Dust-kick Coating

Dear Sheddists,

the sun shines and a dust-kick coating covers the road to the estate.  Preparations are being made.  Bunting and pork roast.  Bands and beer.

The villagers await a weekend of communal celebrations for a diamond jubilee.  Oh what fun awaits, so watch this space!

best regards,

If six were nine

I drove my car so fast ..

I drove my car so fast into the morning thinking of ...

my sister crushed beneath spinning wheels

my father

in a Hertfordshire lay-by

as he pumps blood into his one last exit heart attack

as my son spews helpless and tethered to a chair

and .....

crash, bang, wallop!

what a pile-up.
