the beauty of the day - No. 2

Dear Sheddists,

I'm sure it will come as little surprise that my glimpse of beauty today comes courtesy of my young grand-daughter.  Already in her short lifetime to date she's brought so much joy into the lives of so many people, myself included.

Here she is on a dog-walk, about to be strapped firmly to the warmth of her mum, on a grey, wet day. Our little ray of sunshine!

Best regards,

Yes, Jethro ... the door was clean this morning!

the beauty of the day - No. 1

Dear Sheddists,

it's been just over a year since I retired and a number of people have asked me how it's going.

My consistent reply has been that I haven't had a day when there's been nothing to do, I haven't had a day when I've been bored and I haven't had a day when I failed to see something of beauty that would otherwise have passed me by had I been working.

So this year I'm going to put this to the proof and see how many things I can capture that reflect in some small way the beauty I've seen. Today it's been the wintry afternoon sunshine streaming through the windows at home.  I love my home very much - it's been built on love, family and laughter - and to see the light shining through it was so wonderful.

Here are just a few of the things that made me smile today - hope you enjoy them too.

Yours as ever,
