Such strange feelings retracing the steps I took thirty years ago around this little estate-locked lake. Memories of early mornings, wellingtons and walking hand-in-hand with my eldest daughter, then aged five.

Some things have changed, some haven't.

I celebrated a 'big' birthday a few days ago with friends and family. What a lovely time I had and thank you so much to everyone who came.  You made the day so special for me.

the simple pleasures of life

Dear Sheddists,

one of the great joys of retirement is having more time to spend with the family.  Forget exotic holidays abroad or expensive shopping trips to town, it's the simplest pleasures in life that are the best.

Like slipping out for a cheeky breakfast with our daughter and two of our grand-children. Seeing smiles and hearing laughter. This is the stuff of which memories are made!
