winterbourne gardens

Winterbourne Gardens are an absolute delight! It's our very first visit and with young grand-daughter leading the way we explore their simple beauty.  These gardens are not flashy - their simplicity is a result of insightful thought and attention to detail.

Autumn is a great time to visit. The leaves are just starting to fall as the underlying skeleton of the gardens begins to be revealed.

There are joys to be found at every turn, but my favourite is the display of carnivorous plants. Their greenhouse explodes in a riot of exotic and erotic colours and shape - fleshy-lipped, red, matted and glistening.
