within walking distance - the heritage walk

My final assignment for the 'Within Walking Distance' project is to shoot the Heritage Walk, visiting a number of famous Langley landmarks. They're all included in the interactive mobile app-map produced specifically for the project.

We visit Uncle Ben's Bridge, pass by the Langley gin factory, see the former practice rooms for the Langley Brass Band and end up by the village sign-post. I wonder which way we should follow .. past, present or future?!

It's been a real delight to have been involved in the project and I do hope you've enjoyed looking at the photos.

the discovery of benjamin hanson

Last week I spent a fascinating morning with a local history group engaged in research for a virtual reality project relating to the Black Country.  There was one individual, in particular, the group was focused on, namely Benjamin Hanson.

Searches were made on-line, in books and on an old-fashioned micro-fiche system. The photos below show both the research process and the moment Benjamin was discovered!

I wonder where the trail will lead to next ... ?
