as its name suggests, the Rundetaarn is a round tower next to the Trinitatis church.
Its circular ramp sweeps around seven and a half times before arriving at an observation platform at the summit. Apparently, it was constructed so the King could access the top in his carriage and horses. Not much of a turning circle it has to be said.
About half way up we pause to catch breath and visit a stunning modern art gallery with some fascinating exhibitions inside. Suitably rejuvenated we press on past a fleeting glimpse of the bell-tower and on to the top where we're rewarded with a stunning view across the city.
