a transitioning

There's something deeply moving and reflective about Autumn, the transition between a season of rich, colourful growth and a season of cold, bleak darkness. It has a unique sense of calm and a poignant beauty all of its own.

The fruits of our church eco-garden have long since gone. But now the beautiful sub-structure on which it is built is revealed in all its resplendent glory.

an abstraction - the night-tripper

dusk falls
silent
on the dying field
filling it with blackness

only the abstract of weed
is lit up
sharp against the glooming horizon
as the night-tripper
dances

an abstraction - the day-tripper

morning sun
cuts scythes through warming air
soft decay of autumn
an abstraction of weed
into which runs a black dog
 dreaming

winter awaits
