Another meal
Another meal was eaten. I rang to book, the wheelchair ramp readied. A mid-day oasis in pedestrians who walked free from courts and bustling voices from the party opposite who filled the table with waiters bearing drinks and soft dough balls rolled in coloured crayons as we waited. We ate as a family, blurred and busy as ever.

Special times
Our youngest grandson turned four a few days ago. When he was born he was given a year to live, but now he's four years old and has the biggest, broadest cheekiest smile you could ever hope to see!
His disabilities trouble him not, and on his birthday he chose to stand unaided, if only for a fraction of a second, beside his new sand-tray.
