aston villa 2 v leeds united 3

Oh dear!  What started so well, finished so ignominiously.

Two goals up against top-of-the-table Leeds, after just seventeen minutes and the crowd was rocking.  Tammy Abraham scored first, adding to his impressive goal tally, then Conor Hourihane fired in the second.

All seemed well at half-time but it was not to last. Leeds substitute, the impressive Jack Clarke, fired in their first and it was game on. Pontus Jansson equalized for Leeds on the hour mark and then Villa hearts were broken as Kemar Roofe slotted home the winner five minutes into injury time.

Leeds were by far the better team - organised, disciplined and committed. Whilst it's good to see the Villa scoring machine continue unstopped our defence was exposed once more.  Promotion now seems increasingly unlikely despite the fresh impetus of the new Dean Smith regime.
