Dear Sheddists,
we had a truly wonderful time at the home of lawn tennis earlier this week - well worth the four hour journey each way and the climb up Wimbledon Hill!
We had tickets to Court No. 1 on the day of the ladies semi-finals and whilst we didn't see Johanna Konta play we did get the chance to watch her warm up on one of the outer courts. To be just a few yards away from the first British ladies semi-finalist for several decades was a true privilege. Sadly Johanna was to succumb rather swiftly to the challenge of Venus Williams on Centre Court.
Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed watching Marcelo Melo and Lukasz Kubot defeat Henri Kontinen and John Peers in the men's doubles. They subsequently went on to win the final in an even longer five setter.
It was a truly memorable occasion and I do so hope you enjoy the various tawdry snap-shots I took during the course of the day.
Yours as ever,
electrofried(mr)
