the pig and tail

The Pig and Tail is a fantastic little pub in the heart of Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter. We visited it earlier in the week for a splendid tapas. The food was first-rate - tasty, fresh and moreish. A swift half or two of an excellent craft ale provided a suitable accompaniment.

We thoroughly recommend a visit and it's a place we'll definitely be visiting again.

quiz night at the rose villa tavern

It's the last session of Summer Term for our photography group and we've decided to have a 'social' in Birmingham. The Rose Villa Tavern to be precise and it's Quiz Night tonight.

We eat first, then break into two teams to take part in the quiz.  I've brought a tiny pocket-sized Sony camera to record all the action and it does several rounds of the table as we take turns to show off our new found portraiture, 'oof' (out of focus), food photography and abstract art skills.

Our two teams perform creditably in the quiz and miraculously the camera makes its way safely back to me by the end of the evening!
