After several days of unrelenting rain the sun arrives unexpectedly. The sky lifts clear of the clouds and starts to deepen, an eerie blue light chasing across the tops of the trees.

Oh to be in England in Autumn!

We're in The National Arboretum at Westonbirt. It's Tuesday afternoon - the light is subdued, filtered through a fluffy cloud-covering overhead.

Rather than detracting from the scene the light enhances it, bringing out the true subtlety in an autumnal palette of colour.

 

It's a peaceful place to stop and reflect.
