within walking distance - the heritage walk

My final assignment for the 'Within Walking Distance' project is to shoot the Heritage Walk, visiting a number of famous Langley landmarks. They're all included in the interactive mobile app-map produced specifically for the project.

We visit Uncle Ben's Bridge, pass by the Langley gin factory, see the former practice rooms for the Langley Brass Band and end up by the village sign-post. I wonder which way we should follow .. past, present or future?!

It's been a real delight to have been involved in the project and I do hope you've enjoyed looking at the photos.

within walking distance - myers pens drawing workshop

Langley was once home to Myers Pens. In 1985 it was sold to the American company, Avery International. Its factory site was sold and subsequently developed as a housing estate.

How fitting then that Myers Pens are used during a Drawing Workshop for the 'Within Walking Distance' project.

within walking distance - round about the crow

The second talk of the 'Within Walking Distance' project is by Phil Daniels of The Birmingham Canal Navigations Society.

'Round about the Crow' takes us on an illuminating and epic journey through the Langley canal network. And to top things off, Phil plays a lovely song connecting us with the rich humanity of the Langley community.
